Born from a simple idea: looking put-together should never mean sacrificing comfort.
Checkers & Thread began with a personal search for something surprisingly hard to find: clothing that felt as comfortable as a favorite T-shirt and sneakers, yet looked polished enough for the workplace and stylish enough for everywhere else.
I loved the effortless combination of a beautiful tee and a great pair of sneakers. But finding graphic T-shirts with artwork that felt sophisticated, timeless, and appropriate for a professional setting was a challenge.
So, I started creating my own.
What began as a personal collection quickly became something more. Wherever I went, the questions were the same:
“I love your T-shirt! Where did you get it?”
“Your kimono is beautiful! Where can I find one?”
And just like that, the idea behind Checkers & Thread began to take shape.
